In the Corner

Backed into a corner

No hope left in sight

Backed into a corner

Open eyes see only the night

So low the ground seems above me

So lost I can’t find a way

So broken I’m chasing the shards down

And longing for yesterday

What will I do with these pieces of me?

Where do I go from here?

How do I leave this corner –

Exchanging trust for my fear?

Sometimes the darkest corner

Is where brightest light will shine

And when no one else can see me

Much more precious that Jesus is mine

Still not knowing how to move forward

Yet believing God knows the path

I’ll rest in the Thoughts above my thoughts

Till my time in this corner is past
