He shall carry them in His arms

He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young. – Isaiah 40:11

The night of my husband’s disclosure, he confided in two close friends. They prayed together and my husband (I will also refer to him as HB) was restored to his relationship with God. I was advised to confide in a female friend, so I did that and received some wise counsel. One thing I will mention here – look at this as a joint enemy. Your husband is not the enemy – Satan is; the pornography itself is. Battle together for victory. My husband and I were able to talk this out together. He broke down weeping, which I had never seen him do. God melded our hearts together that afternoon.

In church that evening a friend encouraged me to go forward to pray. As I prayed, God reminded me of a story. In this story it tells how shepherds of old would at times have a rebellious lamb that would keep wandering off. Eventually the shepherd would take the lamb and purposefully break its leg. Then the shepherd would bind the leg up and carry the lamb with him as it healed. Ever after, that lamb would not stray from the shepherd’s side. God made clear to me that He would carry me through this valley and I would become closer to Him.
