The will of God

In my mind there are two ways to look at the will of God and marriage.

Either you prayed through before getting married, and you knew this person was God’s choice for you; or you didn’t – but now that you are married this IS God’s will for you. I believe it is your part to do all you can to keep your marriage together and make it a godly one.

I am very thankful that I fall into the first category. There were moments that the only thing holding me in place was remembering that I was in God’s will for my life. That doesn’t sound very romantic, but it’s reality. At one point in my struggle to heal God even showed me that HB and I are together because God saw we could be more for Him together than we would have been separately.

You may find yourself in a different situation than I did. Maybe you were unsaved when you got married. Maybe you just don’t have assurance your husband was God’s choice for you. I can still assure you that it is God’s will for you to fight for your marriage.

Where the riches of God cannot supply your needs,
Where the power of God cannot endow you.

Where the spirit of God cannot work through you,
Where the wisdom of God cannot teach you,
Where the army of God cannot protect you,
Where the hands of God cannot mold you.

The will of God will never take you,
Where the love of God cannot enfold you,
Where the mercies of God cannot sustain you,
Where the peace of God cannot calm your fears,
Where the authority of God cannot overrule for you.

The will of God will never take you,
Where the comfort of God cannot dry your tears,
Where the Word of God cannot feed you,
Where the miracles of God cannot be done for you,
Where the omnipresence of God cannot find you.
